Successful writer Marianne (Juliette Binoche) leaves Paris to do undercover research for her next book. She moves to Ouistreham, near Caen, and starts working as a cleaner on passenger ships in the port. Marianne faces the economic insecurity and social invisibility of her colleagues. Entre deux Mondes is based on the book and true story of journalist and writer Florence Aubenas. The mostly non-professional actresses offer Binoche excellent acting. The film won the audience award for Best European Film at San Sebastián Film Festival.
