The 17-year-old Jerry (Liam Jeans) lives together with his independent mother (Maartje Remmers) and his younger sister in a quiet Dutch seaside town. He releases his bottled-up frustrations in illegal hooligan-fights. When his mum distances herself from the family, something snaps. The more Jerry gets the idea that everybody is against him, the harder it gets to supress his anger.
Mascotte is the second film of Dutch director Remy van Heugten, who made Gluckauf in 2015 which won the Golden Calf for best movie – the most prestigious Dutch filmprize.
