Impressive drama about a girl who yearns for a warm and permanent home, but is unmanageable due to a childhood trauma.
“System crasher” is the unofficial, controversial name given to children slipping through the cracks of the Child Protection Network. The 9-year-old Benni (an impressive role by Helena Zengel) is such a child. Her single mother cannot handle the care, so the social services take care of the girl. The last hope is Micha, a young anti-aggression coach whose job is to guide Benni to school. Will Micha succeed in which all others failed?
This intense but impressive drama won the Silver Bear at the Berlin film festival last year and was the German entry for the Oscars.
