Casual road movie about a Dutch teenager – not a girl not yet a woman – who travels to Bosnia, her parents’ homeland, to visit her father. She soon loses her suitcase, finds a dog, ends up from one absurd situation to another and is forced to reinvent herself.
Rotterdam Film Festival wrote: “Take Me Somewhere Nice ups the weirdness, as if reality itself is off-centre. Unusual camera angles and a minimalist plot introduce us to the mindset of a teen to whom everything is new and nothing is strange.”
The film won the Special Jury Award at Rotterdam Film Festival and was selected for the ACID program section of the Cannes Film Festival.
