Holy Bread | AKFF

This is the story of the everyday life of people who trade their lives for earning bread with a holy death.

Holy Bread is about the hard life of people who smuggle goods in order to support their families. Because of this, they are forced to hike arduous mountains putting their lives on the line. The father of a household may be swept to his death by an avalanche, or hit by a soldier’s bullets.

The screening of Holy Bread will be preceded by the short film Hacer (15 min.) by Halgurd Salih Ali. Hacer traces the story of a woman of Anfal, who sacrificed 30 years of her life waiting and building hope from the torn up pieces of her children’s clothing. She didn’t let the home that her children had built to play at go to waste.
