The impressive story of a woman who was ahead of her time
In Rome at the beginning of the 20th century, Maria Montessori (Jasmine Trinca) meets the successful French courtesan Lili d’Alengy (Leïla Bekhti). Lili fled Paris to protect her reputation when her daughter’s learning disability threatened to come to light. At that moment, Maria lays the foundation for her new and groundbreaking teaching method. Through Maria, Lili gets to know her daughter as she is: not only a girl with a disability, but also someone with a strong will and talents. Lili in turn helps Maria to realize her ambitions.
Maria Montessori is a compelling story about the power of women; about sacrifice and solidarity.
