77-year-old Tereza, born and raised in an industrial town on the edge of the Amazon, is suddenly ordered to leave her home. The state forces her to be moved to a so-called “senior citizen colony,” a place where the elderly are supposed to “enjoy” their final years so the younger generation can fully dedicate themselves to growth and productivity. But Tereza refuses to accept this inhumane measure. Instead of giving up her freedom, she embarks on a clandestine boat trip through the Amazon. What follows is a journey through lush landscapes full of obstacles, unexpected encounters, and a growing realization that freedom knows no age.
