Brooding German drama about a young woman who begins a passionate relationship with an attractive but older farmer in 1990, just after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
It is a hot summer in 1990 in a village in Thuringia, former East Germany. Maria is almost 19 and lives with her boyfriend Johannes on the farm with his parents. After the fall of the Wall, the atmosphere of a new era is in the air, but she finds it hard to cope. The same goes for her neighbour. The attractive but 20 years older Henner seeks a rapprochement and that is the beginning of a secret, passionate relationship.
Irgendwann werden wir uns alles erzählen is the new film by director Emily Atef who, after the award-winning Plus que jamais (2022), once again shows her talent. She based her new film on the book by Daniela Krien, with whom she also wrote the screenplay.
