The deeply religious and conservative Romanian-Norwegian Gheorghiu family moves to a small community in a remote Norwegian fjord. Despite raising their five children according to biblical values, they build a close bond with their new neighbors. But when teenager Elia Gheorghiu shows up at school one day with bruises, red flags are raised and the village community turns entirely against the parents’ traditional parenting style.
